Routine gynecological care, contraception, STI testing, and the ordinary health concerns that don’t fit around charter schedules — coordinated by CrewDoctor through licensed US OB/GYN practices in Florida, with the privacy crew expect and the documentation insurers need.
Clinical information stays between the crew member and the US provider. Captains, HoDs, and management companies receive only what they need for scheduling and billing — not what the appointment was about. US clinicians we work with are bound by HIPAA, the US federal health-privacy law that restricts disclosure of medical information without the patient’s consent.
CrewDoctor is the coordinator, not the clinician — we book the appointment with a vetted US OB/GYN in Florida and handle the logistics, paperwork, and follow-up. The clinical care itself is delivered by a licensed US obstetrician-gynecologist or nurse practitioner.
Annual well-woman visits, pelvic exams, breast exams, and cervical screening (Pap smears, HPV testing). Standard preventive care, scheduled around your turnaround.
Full STI panel processed through CLIA-certified US laboratories — chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, HIV, hepatitis, HPV. Results returned confidentially to the crew member.
Pill, implant, IUD, injection, or non-hormonal options — consultation with a US OB/GYN to choose what fits your situation, with prescriptions or device insertion done in-clinic.
Irregular cycles, heavy bleeding, severe period pain, PCOS-related issues, endometriosis investigation — care for the issues that affect crew quality of life on board.
Confirmation testing, early pregnancy consultations, and onward referral — whether the result is wanted or unwanted, we connect crew with appropriate US providers without judgment.
Fertility consultations, AMH and hormonal testing, and referrals to US reproductive endocrinologists for crew planning pregnancy or considering egg-freezing.
HRT consultations, symptom management, and bone-density screening for crew managing menopause while at sea.
Many women’s health concerns overlap with mental health. Where useful, we coordinate parallel referrals to licensed US therapists who understand yacht life.
You can contact CrewDoctor directly — the captain or HoD doesn’t need to be involved. Many crew prefer it that way and we’re built for it.
Call, message, or email CrewDoctor. You can identify yourself or use the yacht name only — whatever you’re comfortable with.
Based on what you need — routine exam, STI testing, contraception consult, etc. — we book with the right US OB/GYN nearest your dock.
In-clinic exam or consultation with a licensed US gynecologist. Tests sent to CLIA-certified labs. Prescriptions filled at a US pharmacy if needed.
Results returned to you confidentially. Any follow-up care (specialist referral, repeat testing, telemed consult) coordinated through us.
If you carry crew medical insurance (WYCC, MHG, Pantaenius, Seven Seas, MedAire, etc.) we check what’s covered before the appointment so there are no surprises.
Where your insurer or P&I supports direct billing, we set it up so you don’t pay up front.
If you’re paying yourself, you see the price before the appointment. No surprise US-style billing.
Itemized invoices and clinical letters formatted for your insurer’s claims process — without disclosing more clinical detail than necessary.
CrewDoctor is a medical coordination service. All clinical care is provided by independent, US-licensed obstetrician-gynecologists and other US healthcare providers. Test results are processed by CLIA-certified US laboratories (CLIA = Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments, the US federal certification standard for clinical laboratories). We do not provide clinical care directly.
You can call or message us directly. We’ll come back with what we’d suggest based on what you need — no judgment, no captain notification, no fuss.
