A subscription-based emergency evacuation service for superyacht crew, owners, and guests — delivered through CrewDoctor’s contracted network of air-ambulance and EMS operators. One call activates the response, dispatches the right aircraft or ground unit, and coordinates everything from on-scene stabilization to onward hospital admission and repatriation.
Evacuation isn’t one service — it’s a chain: getting to the patient, stabilizing them, transporting them to the appropriate facility, and handling everything around it. Subscription covers the whole chain.
Long-range medical jets equipped for ICU-level inflight care, with onboard medical crew. For transoceanic and inter-continental evacuations.
Helicopter dispatch where ground access is limited — offshore positions, remote anchorages, mountainous coastlines, or congested coastal traffic.
Local ambulance dispatch and coordination at the embarkation and arrival points, including liaison with the receiving hospital’s ER.
A nurse or physician escort on commercial flights for patients stable enough to travel without a dedicated air ambulance. Lower cost where clinically appropriate.
Pre-arrival coordination with the receiving facility — bed reserved, specialist ready, medical records transferred.
Once stabilized, onward transport home for ongoing care — whether that’s the crew member’s home country or the owner’s primary residence.
Subscription typically funded by the yacht or management company as part of the crew benefits package. Sits alongside any P&I cover and crew medical insurance — we handle the dispatch and case management; the insurer handles the bill where cover applies.
Private subscription for the owner’s family, plus optional cover for charter guests during charter weeks. Particularly valuable for owners cruising remote regions where high-quality local healthcare isn’t guaranteed.
Four standard tiers. Pricing depends on cruising area, headcount, and any pre-existing conditions — we quote per yacht.
Individual crew member cover. Useful for crew on freelance contracts or where the yacht doesn’t provide group cover. Worldwide coordination including shore leave.
All registered crew on a named yacht. Funded by the yacht or management company. Cover follows the crew member wherever the yacht goes — and during onshore time.
Owner, spouse/partner, and dependent family members. Worldwide cover regardless of whether they’re on the yacht. Includes repatriation to the owner’s primary residence.
Full coverage: owner’s family, registered crew, and charter guests during contracted charters. Single subscription, single point of activation. Most common for charter yachts.
Subscriptions renew annually. Activation is unlimited per subscription term — there’s no per-incident charge for subscribers within the cover terms.
The single subscriber number connects to a 24/7 medical operations team. The flow below assumes a real medical event in progress.
Captain, HoD, owner, or family member calls the 24/7 emergency number. Yacht name and subscription ID confirms cover instantly.
A CrewDoctor clinician on the call assesses the situation, the patient’s condition, and the yacht’s exact position. Decides what level of response is needed.
The right asset is dispatched from our contracted operator network — helicopter, fixed-wing jet, ground ambulance, or commercial-flight medical escort.
Patient transferred to a pre-coordinated receiving hospital. CrewDoctor stays on the case through admission, treatment, and repatriation.
Worldwide. Mediterranean, Caribbean, Atlantic and Pacific crossings, polar approaches, Asia-Pacific, Indian Ocean — wherever your yacht cruises.
Active war zones and territories under US/UK/EU travel advisories at the time of the incident are excluded from automatic activation. Special-risk coverage may be arranged in advance.
Locations subject to OFAC and equivalent UK/EU sanctions at the time of incident are excluded (current list typically includes Russia, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Cuba — verify at policy issue).
Disclosed at subscription. Some conditions may require additional underwriting or carry specific terms — we’re upfront about this at quote stage.
Your crew medical insurer, P&I club, or personal health insurance still applies as it would for any other medical event. CrewDoctor’s evacuation subscription covers the activation, dispatch, and case management — medical bills are handled through your existing cover wherever applicable. If you’re self-pay for any portion of the care, we coordinate transparent billing.
Tell us the yacht, the cruising programme, the headcount, and which tier you’re interested in. We’ll come back with a quote, the activation procedure, and the subscription paperwork.
